St Petersburg/St Pete Beach

Last year, Keith was able to get a airline voucher to use anywhere in the US.  We decided to pick somewhere we had never been but also that included a beach, so we settled on St Petersburg. We opted to stay in a boutique hotel in downtown.  We were able to walk to most of the places we went and then get a ride to the beach.

Thursday: We both worked a half day and then headed to the airport only to find out we were going to start the trip with a 4 hour delay. We made the most of it because we were at an airport bar and each other. We landed late so we grabbed a few drinks and checked into our hotel.

Friday: A tropical storm was threatening bad weather for all of the east coast (including back home) so we anticipated rain the whole weekend, but we got lucky. The weather was perfect so we grabbed brunch downtown before heading to St. Pete Beach. We walked to dinner at The Moon Under Water right by the water and it was really good.

Saturday: Our hotel, Avalon had a adjoining property The Hollander with a pool and cabanas so we took full advantage of another pretty day in sunny Florida. We had professional pictures taken at Don Cesar hotel and the beach later in the afternoon.  The pink hotel is the perfect back drop. After pictures, we went to Ferg's Sports Bar to watch Cavs play game 3 of East Conference Finals.

Sunday: We didn't get lucky with the weather and it rained all day.  We headed back to Wooden Rooster for the best crepes in town.  We decided to check out Wharf on St Pete Beach for a few drinks before heading to the airport.
